Platform crosses 400 million downloads, accelerates multi-service expansion
KATHMANDU, MAY 14
inDrive has retained its position as the world's second most downloaded ride-hailing app for the fourth consecutive year in 2025, according to a report by Sensor Tower.
The company also climbed to fourth place in the global travel category, up from fifth in 2024, reflecting increased user engagement as it expands into a multi-service "super app".
The platform, known for its peer-to-peer pricing model allowing drivers and passengers to negotiate fares, has surpassed 400 million downloads and facilitated over 8 billion transactions across 1,100 cities in 48 countries.
In 2025, inDrive broadened its services beyond ride-hailing to include intercity travel, courier services, grocery delivery and financial services, aiming to deepen user engagement.
The company said the integration of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics has enhanced user experience through improved route mapping, accurate estimated arrival times and personalised services.
According to the report, super apps are emerging as a key growth driver in the ride-hailing sector, particularly in developing markets.
Founder and CEO Arsen Tomsky said the ranking reflects user trust and the company's focus on fairness, transparency and choice.
In Nepal, the development highlights a growing shift toward flexible and transparent mobility services, especially in urban markets where affordability and trust influence commuting decisions.
