Kathmandu, April 16: Minister for Environment, Science and Technology Ganesh Shah handed over international accreditation certificates to Himalayan Distillery Ltd at a function here today.

Established in 2042 BS, Himalayan Distillery is the largest distillery in the country with a wide range of domestic liquor brands. It also produces and distributes international brands of liquor in association with the multinational company Seagram’s International.

The company received the Quality Management System ISO 9001:2007 in 2063 BS. This year, it has again been awarded the Environment and Management System ISO 14004:2005, Organization’s Health and Safety Management System 18001:2007 and Food Safety Management System ISO 22000:2005, from UK Accreditation Service UK.

“The certifications have been awarded after thorough observation and supervision of the company’s manufacturing units, occupational health and safety standards, production system, environmental management and quality control,” according to the company.

The company reiterated its commitment to quality maintenance in its production and hoped for continued support, trust and goodwill of its customers and associates.
