International accounting meet begins

Kathmandu, October 31:

The third assembly of Association of Government Accounts Organisation of Asia kicked off today.

The three-day long meeting — that has been participated by heads of government accounting organisations and representatives of World Bank and Asian Development Bank — aims at strengthening regional network of government accounting organisations for promotion of internal auditing.

Inaugurating the assembly, Dr Bhojraj Ghimire, chief secretary, said that Nepal has

given top priorities for financial sector reform, good governance and poverty alleviation.

VN Kaila, chairman of the association, said that such assembly would be effective in exchanging knowledge and experiences on policies, progra-mmes and technology on public financial reform.
