Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited has appointed Janak Sharma Poudyal as an Independent Director on its Board, effective April 2.
The decision was made during the bank's board meeting held on March 31. Poudyal succeeds Siddhant Raj Pandey in the role.
Poudyal brings extensive experience in Nepal's banking sector, having previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Global IME Bank Limited and Sunrise Bank Limited. He holds an MBA degree from the London School of Commerce, UK.
Standard Chartered Bank Nepal, the only international bank operating in the country, stated that the appointment is expected to further strengthen its governance and strategic leadership.
