BARA, DECEMBER 31
A rural agricultural market is set to begin operations in Jitpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City-18, Bara, starting January 16 (Magh 3).
The decision was made during a meeting attended by local organizations, cooperatives, and social leaders at the Maula Devi Youth Club in Badhharwa.
Initially, the market will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, in designated areas near Badhharwa Chowk.
A seven-member management committee, chaired by Bimal Raj Bharati, and a five-member advisory committee, led by former Ward Chair Arjun Prasad Dahal, have been formed to oversee the market's operations.
The purpose of the market is to address local challenges by providing a platform for selling produce and reducing the need for residents to travel long distances for essential goods.
Traders needing overnight accommodations will have access to free lodging and storage. Additionally, special prizes will be awarded to those who set up stalls on the opening day.
The committee will also be responsible for ensuring the safety of goods for both traders and customers.
The inauguration of the market will coincide with the closing of a local festival that runs from December 9 to January 21.
