Karkaria sees Nepali tourism revival soon

Despite its downward trend in the recent times, Nepali tourism industry, said Zubin Karkaria, CEO and MD of Kuoni Travel Group (India), is set to bounce back like never before. Karkaria, who was on a short visit to Nepal recently, expressed optimism that there is a future of tourism in Nepal for which promotional activities of culture, natural beauty, unique and new destinations of tourism importance need to be done on a regular basis. He said after some months, tourism business would revive, for which we should keep on promoting attractive tourism products and destination on a regular basis. Kakaria informed that a promotional campaign is being started from Japan in a near future that will help revive tourism industry.

“Sita World Travel (Nepal) Pvt Ltd, is planning a campaign.” “Tourism growth in India, currently stands at 20 per cent annually,” said Karkaria adding that the overall performance of tourism in other South Asian countries is, however, not encouraging.” “Tourism package is being worked out which will ultimately help boost ailing tourism industry,” he said, “Current scenario might not be encouraging but the days ahead are bright.”
