Kathmandu district team finished first in the Bagmati Province Selection Taekwondo Tournament here on Tuesday.
Kathmandu claimed 14 golds, five silvers and one bronze medal. Chitwan came second with three each golds and silvers along with four bronze medals, while Dhading were third with three golds, two silvers and four bronze medals.
A total of 204 players competed in 26 events. Lalitpur district President of Nepali Congress Jitendra Shrestha and Bagmati Province Taekwondo Association President Keshav Puri handed over the prizes to the winners.
Meanwhile, the organisers honoured international referee Ashok Khadka for becoming the second-class referee and also handed over cash prizes to the Bagmati Province players who won medals in the Mayor Cup earlier this year.
