Lama re-elected president

Kathmandu, September 24:

The sixth annual general meeting of Nepal Freight Forwarders’ Association (NEFFA) concluded

here yesterday, re-electing Namgyal Lama as its president for a second term. The meeting has also chosen a new executive committee with Rameshwar KC as vice-president, Rajan Sharma as the general secretary and Prakash Singh Karki as the treasurer. Rabindra Man Singh Pradhan is the immediate past-president. The elected members of NEFFA include Manoj Adhikari, Rustam Lal Shrestha, Ashok Man Kapali, Sunder Prasad Dahal, Ram Raja Acharya and Rajendra Shangroula. Most members of the new executive committee are from the past committee, while Kapali, Acharya and Shangroula are the new faces for 2005-07 term. NEFFA will continue to raise issues regarding professional rights as well as matters related to trade facilitation, said Lama, “The major issue will be developing Nepal as an air cargo transit hub for the South Asia region with a particular focus on transit facilitation for India and China.”
