LTAPSC helps raise income

Kapilvastu, March 7:

The Long Term Agriculture Plan Support Committee (LTAPSC) has helped regenerate the interest of farmers towards the profession of agriculture and animal farming in Kapilvastu.

LTAPSC has been managing to provide seeds, insecticides, and agriculture appliances, irrigation facilities to locals. It is also helping in the farming of goats, buffaloes, bees, chickens, and pigs.

“They have installed hand pumps, provided seeds and helped us in the farming of tomatoes and cabbages in the beginning,” said a farmer in Bargadwa, Ram Bilash Shah.

He has been generating income from the production of various vegetables such as lady’s finger, cucumber, chilly, radish, gourd, cabbage and tomato from his three katthas of small piece of land. Inspired by the results, he has taken land on contract for vegetable farming.

Ram Briksha Kharbin who has been generating close to Rs 100,000 income every year from his 13 Katthas of land said, he is purchasing land with his income.

Thousands of farmers in some 53 VDCs and Kapilvastu Municipality have directly benefited from the programme.
