Maiden Nepal sales mission in Eastern Europe
Kathmandu, March 18:
Aiming to buttress the deteriorating tourism industry of Nepal, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) organised the first ever ‘Sales Mission’ in East European Countries after the launching of NTB’s new brand.
The new tourism promotion campaign was organised in Czech Republic, Poland and Russia from March 13–18, states a press release from NTB.
Press and tour operators from these countries were apprised about the prospect of adventure tourism and the situation in Nepal. In addition to promoting Nepal as a unique holiday destination, NTB also facilitated private sector participants by providing them with a platform to interact with their travel-trade counterparts in these countries, adds the release.
“Nepal is a perfect getaway for people of East Europe. Adventure, cultural and natural attractions that Nepal offers would be a memorable holiday for Europeans,” the release adds quoting, Nandini Lahe Thapa, marketing and promotion director at NTB. The fast growing East European outbound market have high-value visitors for the entire Asian region, she said.
The increasing interest towards travelling, religious tourism, eco-tourism and Asian culture buoyed by the burgeoning economy of the of East Europe makes the region a very potential market for Nepal.
