KATHMANDU, JUNE 5
MetLife Nepal has launched a sports-and-education initiative in Kaski district, distributing football kits and training equipment to public schools to promote youth development through sport.
Under the programme titled "Empowering the Next Generation Through Education and Sports," the company is supporting five public schools in partnership with the Karmayog Foundation.
As part of the initiative, around 160 footballs along with cones, goalpost nets, air pumps, and other basic training materials are being provided. Selected students will also receive jerseys to encourage structured play and regular sports activities in schools.
MetLife Nepal said the programme aims to strengthen holistic learning by combining classroom education with values promoted through sport, including teamwork, discipline, and resilience.
Vice President and General Manager of MetLife Nepal, Nirmal Kajee Shrestha, said sports can play a key role in building confidence and expanding opportunities for students in public schools, where access to such activities is often limited.
The initiative is part of MetLife Nepal's corporate social responsibility focus on education and youth development.
