MoICS, FNCCI to organise Eastern Industrial fair

Kathmandu, January 11
Ministry of industry, commerce and supplies (MoICS)— alongwith Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Mechi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) — is organising Eastern Industrial Trade Fair-2060, in Birtamod Jhapa.
The fair is hoped to boost trade and economic activities at a time when the business sector is in troubles.
The five-day long fair is likely to attract thousands of visitors interested in purchasing goods and business expansion.
Birtamod is famous as the biggest industrial city of Mechi zone, states a press release issued here today.
The industrial fair, states the release, will lure tourists from India such as Darjeelng, Sikkim and Kurseong, and the Nepali traders hope to boost their business.
Furthermore, organisers also hope that the export from eastern customs check-point will be boosted during the industrial fair.
The daily consumable goods will be available at reasonable prices at the fair.
Other products such as industrial goods produced from India, Bangladesh, China and other local products are will also be displayed during the fair.
Seminar on particular issues and various cultural programmes are also scheduled for the fair.
About 300 thousand visitors from Sikkim, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Silguri of India, and Bangladesh are expected to visit the industrial fair.
The Chinese and Bangladeshi traders are also displaying their products in the fair.
Event management of the fair is taken care of by Kathmandu Exhibitions (KE).
Kathmandu Exhibitions had been significantly organising important trade fairs such as SAARC trade fair, agro trade fair, Chinese products exhibition and Chitwan Festival previously also.
