Alba Ratna for Sherchan

BHAIRAHAWA: Morang Auto Works (MAW) — sole distributor of Yamaha motorcycles for Nepal — ran the fifth Alba Ratna campaign in Bhairahawa on Thursday. Sarau Prasad Sherchan from Dhumbarahi-4, Kathmandu, won the award with a purse of Rs 50,000 while Nabaraj Bhattarai from Anarmadi in Birtamod, Jhapa, won Rs 5,000 for helping MAW identify local hero Sherchan who started vocational education for the deaf at his own expense. Sherchan has also started an education system through sign language which has gained formal recognition and thousands of deaf people have the opportunity to get educated. Alba Ratna award honours the local hero/heroine for selfless contribution to society. MAW is honouring such Alba Ratnas every month for a year.

Bajaj in Gaighat

KATHMANDU: Kalika Auto Link began its service at Gaighat as an authorised 3S dealer of Bajaj. The showroom was inaugurated on Thursday. It has brought special schemes and offers on the occasion. Kalika Auto Link proprietor Sunil Thakur said that the showroom targets a sale of 500 unit of motorbikes in its first year. “Some 42 motorbikes were already booked before the inauguration,” he said adding that it will provide 3S service — sales, service and spare parts according to standards set by Bajaj.
