NBI to organise first regional exchange

Kathmandu, December 3:

National Business Initiative (NBI) in partnership with Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Associations Nepal (FWEAN), Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) will hold the first regional exchange programme with Business for Peace Alliance (BPA) and Ceylon Chamber of Commerce on December 6-14.

A high level delegation from Sri Lanka will be here and in Biratnagar for this programme. The event is supported by International Alert and GTZ/INCLUDE.

Exchange with BPA, a private group dedicated to peace-building, conflict transformation and economic inclusion in Sri Lanka, is expected enhance awareness and capacity-development in Nepal.

Partners will share experiences as well as networks and develop new strategies concerning Conflict Sensitive Business Practices (CSBP). Another priority is developing advocacy and public relation strategies to improve understanding between private businesses and other sectors of society.

The exchange will include a series of workshops here and Biratnagar on Responsible Business Practices and Corporate Social Responsibility, SMEs in Conflict Environments, Advocacy and Media Relations for Peace, Stability and Inclusive Economic Growth, and Youth Integration through Entrepreneurship Development.
