Ncell App Camp application open till Sept 20

Kathmandu, August 22

Ncell has stated that it will accept applications for the second edition of Ncell App Camp, the country’s biggest app conclave, till September 20, (12:00pm). The company today organised two debriefing sessions for participants. More than 300 interested app developers and mobile enthusiasts had attended the sessions.

During the sessions, organisers of the event informed the participants about the various stages of the competition, and what the participants are expected to do in each stage. Ncell’s Corporate Communication Expert Milan Sharma said the app camp is not just a competition, but also a platform for young people to learn about making use of their technical skills to start a viable business.

“Ncell is organising the app camp as part of its CSR, and to bring something new to the digital world,” said Sharma. He said that the company wants to help young people utilise their skills and evolve their group into a start-up and by doing that make Nepali apps recognisable in the world.

In the programme, grand prize winner of Ncell App Camp 2014, Sibjan Chaulagain and other participants under different categories shared their experience of last year’s camp.

This year, apps will be judged under four categories — games and entertainment, tourism, health, and utilities. All categories, except for tourism, are new to this year’s Ncell App Camp.

The best team in each category will win a cash prize of Rs 250,000 and a grand winner from among them will win an additional cash prize of Rs 500,000.

Ncell has already launched a separate app with the details of the app camp, which can be downloaded from Google Playstore.
