KATHMANDU, JUNE 10
Ncell Business has announced that its Integrated Data Centre (IDC) in Nakkhu, Lalitpur, has received the internationally recognised ANSI/TIA-942-C Rated 3 (Tier III) Design and Constructed Facility Certification.
According to the company, the certification confirms that the facility meets global standards for reliability, redundancy and operational resilience required for mission-critical digital services.
The assessment was conducted by Data Center Media LLP, an authorised certification body of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA).
Ncell stated that the certification ensures the data centre can continue operating during planned maintenance and unexpected disruptions, with an availability rate of approximately 99.982 per cent supported by redundant power, cooling and network systems.
Chief Executive Officer Michael Foley said the achievement marks a significant milestone for both Ncell and Nepal, adding that the facility provides world-class digital infrastructure capable of supporting businesses and institutions that require uninterrupted services.
The company said the data centre also complies with international information security and privacy standards, including ISO 27001 and ISO 27701, and has obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
Ncell noted that the facility will support banks, insurance companies, government agencies, small and medium enterprises, and large organisations by providing secure local hosting, improved business continuity, disaster recovery capabilities and enhanced data sovereignty.
The company added that the certification contributes to Nepal's broader digital transformation efforts by strengthening domestic digital infrastructure and reducing dependence on foreign data-hosting services.
