Ncell has extended free voice, data and SMS services in flood-affected areas by seven days to support communication, search and rescue, and relief efforts.
The extended services will be available from Saturday for an additional week in areas affected by the Bhotekoshi River flooding in Rasuwa.
Ncell had earlier announced free data, all-net voice calls and 100 free SMS for three days following the devastating floods. The initial free service period ends Friday.
Ncell Chief Consumer Business Officer Upanga Dutta said the extension would help affected communities remain connected with their families and facilitate coordination among rescue and relief teams.
The company said it has restored 18 mobile towers disrupted by the floods and is working to restore nine remaining affected sites.
Ncell Foundation also contributed Rs 10 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund on Thursday for search, rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts.
The company has also been disseminating safety information through SMS and social media, urging people in affected areas to follow instructions issued by authorities.
