NEA fails to pay for acquired land

The diesel centre belonging to the Nepal Electricity Authority has been irregular in giving compensation for the land occupied for its construction. So far Rs 104 million has been distributed to seven families out of the 14 in the Hetauda municipality-1, Chauki tole, in BS 2056 for their 18-kattha of land, following threats to the diesel centre. Locals said that money allocated as compensation for the 10-kattha three-dhur of land and two houses belonging to the remaining seven families has not reached them even after five years.

Though the seven families have received compensation reported to be thrice the value of their property, the remaining families have received nothing. no avail. Then minister for water resources, Govinda Raj Joshi, ordered the NEA to provide compensation to the remaining seven families on Poush 13, BS 2056. This has also not brought any result, the victims said.
