KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 7
The national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), is set to operate a rescue flight from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa and back on October 10, coinciding with Fulpati, a day of the Bada Dashain festival.
The NAC has decided to conduct this rescue flight to facilitate travel for those wishing to reach their destinations during the Dashain festival.
As instructed by Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey, the NAC is initiating this flight in response to the significant damage caused by floods and landslides to various highways and roads leading from the Kathmandu Valley, according to Yubaraj Adhikari, Executive Chair of the corporation.
According to the NAC flight schedule, the A320 aircraft will depart from Kathmandu at 11:00 AM for Bhairahawa, returning to Kathmandu at 12:30 PM.
The state-owned airline has set the fare at Rs 7,000 for the Kathmandu to Bhairahawa leg and Rs 3,890 for the return flight.
