Nepal, Bhutan all for trade cooperation

KATHMANDU: Bhutanese Economic Affairs Minister Lyonpo Khandup Wangchuk and Nepali entreprenuers discussed the issue of cooperation in trade and economic sectors.

Minister Wangchuk and members of the Federation of Nepalese Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) discussed several aspects of cooperation here today.

The meeting dwelt on Bhutan’s success in hydropower, tourism and high-value agriculture products which can be a good model here. Nepal and Bhutan agreed to form a Nepal-Bhutan Economic Council. Nepali entreprenuers urged the Bhutanese for starting joint-venture industries in Nepal as the new trade treaty signed between Nepal and India has created sufficient ground for exporting Nepali products.

Minister Wangchuk expressed his happiness at the opportunity to discuss economic issues with Nepali entreprenuers.
