NRB directs BFIs to open counters on Saturdays

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has directed the banks and financial institutions (BFIs) providing revenue deposit service to open their counters on Saturdays as well.

The BFIs have been asked to keep their counters open throughout the day on Saturday in order to receive revenue collection, said the Bank’s Executive Director Narayan Prasad Poudel.

The directive to commercial BFIs was issued as per the request of the Ministry of Finance.

Likewise, the Nepal Clearing House Limited has also been directed to remain open as normal days to carry out the clearing of cheques related to revenue deposits.

The directive by the NRB was to banks of class A, B and C, and to financial institutions.
