Nepal SBI Bank to beautify Fewa Lake

KATHMANDU: Nepal SBI Bank Ltd has started construction works of Fewa Lake Beautification Project. Siddhartha Sengupta, deputy managing director of State Bank of India, Mumbai, laid the foundation stone for the construction work, amidst a ceremony at Barahi Ghat, Fewa Lake, Pokhara.

The project is being undertaken by the bank in partnership with Pokhara Sub-metropolitan City (PSMC) as an outcome of its memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with PSMC on September 4. As per the MoU, the bank will carry out construction of at least 13 resting sheds along the existing foot track of Fewa Lake, WC/toilets, drinking water outlet and banking terminal (CDM/ATM/banking utilities) for domestic and international tourists and beautify the area with flowers and greenery. Besides, the bank has already renovated and beautified the rescue tower at Barahi Ghat.

The regular cleaning and maintenance of the amenities developed by the bank will also be carried out by the bank for up to five years. The entire cost to be incurred for the project will be borne by the bank. On the occasion, the bank also handed over water storage tank, warm clothes, school bags and stationery items to Star Children Home, Pokhara.
