The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its downward trend on Tuesday, falling by 32.21 points or 1.17% to close at 2,719.20 points by the end of the trading day.

Similarly, the Sensitive Index, which tracks Class 'A' stocks, declined by 0.71%, while the Float Index, measuring actively traded stocks, fell by 1.04%.

Despite the decline in NEPSE, daily turnover saw a slight increase. The daily turnover rose to Rs 8.39 billion, driven by the exchange of 15,559,683 shares from 303 companies in 92,031 transactions. On Monday, the turnover stood at Rs 8.37 billion.

In terms of sector performance, all sectors ended in the red except for the Development Bank sector, which rose by 1.93%. Meanwhile, the Manufacturing and Processing sector led the pack of losers, with a drop of 2.49%.

By the end of the session, 33 stocks advanced, 208 declined, and three remained unchanged.

At the close of trading, NEPSE's total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.515 trillion.
