KATHMANDU, JULY 2
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index extended its rally for the second consecutive day on Wednesday, gaining 34.42 points or 1.29% to close at 2,694.82 points. This follows Tuesday's rise of 28.91 points (1.09%), when the index had closed at 2,660.39 points.
All sectoral indices ended in the green, with the Life Insurance sector leading the gains at 2.83%, followed by Non-Life Insurance at 2.51%, and the Development Bank sector at 2.31%.
The Sensitive Index, which tracks Class 'A' companies, rose by 1.20%, while the Float Index, reflecting actively traded shares, increased by 1.40%.
Turnover surged to Rs 9.74 billion, up from Rs 7.03 billion on Tuesday, with 30,182,341 shares of 317 companies traded in 89,468 transactions.
Of the total traded stocks, 182 advanced, 65 declined, and one remained unchanged.
At the close of trading, total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.489 trillion.
