The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the sole secondary market of the country, crossed 2,900 points on Sunday with 69 points or 2.41 per cent rise on Sunday.

The benchmark index finished at 2,926.74 after opening at 2873.42.

On the first trading day of the week, Rs 9.676 billion worth of shares from 229 firms were exchanged in 101,589 transactions, resulting in a daily turnover of Rs 9.676 billion.

The sensitive index gained 11.81 points, or 2.22 percent, to 542.63 points. The float index increased by 4.64 points, or 2.36 percent, to 201.62 points.

Today's market saw gains across the board, with the Manufacturing and Processing index leading the pack with a 5.62 percent increase.

The market capitalization was Rs 4.134 trillion at the end of the business day.
