KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 16

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) fell 21.19 points, or 0.80 per cent, to close at 2,612.42 points on Wednesday.

The sensitive index also declined 0.80 per cent, while the float index fell 0.83 per cent. All sectoral indices closed lower, with the hydropower sector recording the biggest drop of 1.04 per cent, followed by life insurance, which fell 1.01 per cent.

Despite the decline, trading activity remained strong, with daily turnover rising to Rs 5.38 billion. A total of 15,101,555 shares of 350 listed companies changed hands through 55,831 transactions.

Market breadth was negative, with 225 stocks declining against 42 that advanced, while 12 remained unchanged.
