The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the sole secondary market of the country, fell 80.29 points on Sunday.

The benchmark index that opened at 2731.78 points plunged 2.94 per cent to reach 2651.49 points at the end of the day.

Similarly, the sensitive index also fell to 501.46 points, denoting 14.19 points or a 2.75 per cent fall. The float index too dropped to 182.92 points a 5.43 point or 2.88 per cent.

Likewise, all the sub indices were also in the red with Life insurance index leading the pack of losers with 5.38 point loss followed by Non life insurance index at 385.94 point loss.

The first trading day of the week saw a total of 11,903,202 units of shares of altogether 234 companies traded at Rs 5.835 billion.

At the end of the day, market capitalisation stood at Rs 3.722 trillion.
