KATHMANDU, JULY 7
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped by 22.35 points, or 0.82 percent, on Sunday, closing at 2,684.01 points. The decline was accompanied by a fall in other indices, with the Sensitive Index dipping 0.89 percent and the Float Index falling 0.87 percent.
Most sectoral indices ended the day in the red, except for Hotels and Tourism, which gained 0.61 percent, and Mutual Fund, which saw a marginal increase of 0.07 percent. The Finance sector posted the sharpest loss of the day, plunging 3.76 percent. No other sectors reported losses exceeding 2 percent.
Total market turnover reached Rs 8.37 billion, with 19,415,688 shares of 311 companies changing hands through 71,313 transactions.
Of the traded stocks, only 39 advanced while 209 declined. Rapti Hydro and General Construction Limited (RHGCL) was the only stock to hit the lower circuit, dropping by 10 percent.
At the end of the trading day, the total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.471 trillion.
