The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 13.51 points, or 0.48 percent, on Tuesday to close at 2,812.34 points by the end of the trading session.

The Sensitive Index, which measures the performance of Class 'A' companies, increased by 0.44 percent, while the Float Index, which tracks actively traded shares, also gained 0.46 percent.

Sector-wise, trading remained mixed, with six sectors posting gains while the rest declined. The hydropower sector recorded the highest rise of 1.59 percent.

The daily turnover reached around Rs 12 billion, with 34,852,760 units of shares of 340 companies traded through 106,140 transactions during the day.

By the close of trading, the total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.766 trillion.

In terms of individual stock performance, 132 scrips advanced, while 113 declined and 17 remained unchanged. Shares of Reliance Spinning Mills Limited (RSML) and Solu Hydropower Limited (SOHL) hit the upper circuit breaker limit of 10 percent during the session.
