KATHMANDU, AUGUST 25
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) rose by 21.30 points, or 0.77%, on Sunday, closing at 2,761.26 points.
Alongside the benchmark index, the Sensitive Index, which tracks Class 'A' stocks, gained 0.67%, while the Float Index, reflecting actively traded shares, increased by 0.68%.
Sectoral performance was largely positive, with only the Manufacturing and Processing sector (-0.05%) and the Mutual Fund sector (-0.34%) recording declines. The 'Others' sector led the gains with a 2.79% rise, followed by the Microfinance sector at 1.50%. No other sector recorded gains or losses exceeding 1%.
The market saw a daily turnover of Rs 5.753 billion, with 10,877,942 shares of 317 companies exchanged through 57,157 transactions. A total of 179 companies advanced, while 71 declined.
By the end of trading, the total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.614 billion.
