KATHMANDU, JULY 11
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw a notable rise of 29.21 points or 1.34%, closing at 2,204.61 points by the end of the trading day on Thursday.
Along with the benchmark index, the sensitive index, which evaluates 'A' class stocks, increased by 1.53%, while the float index, which gauges actively traded shares, rose by 1.44%.
The market showed mostly positive performance, with only two sectors recording losses: the Microfinance sector fell by 0.53%, and the Trading sector declined by 0.39%. On the other hand, all other sectors experienced gains. The Life Insurance sector led the gains with a rise of 3.06%, followed by the Banking sector at 2.42%, the Mutual Fund sector at 1.90%, the Others sector at 1.53%, and the Hydropower sector at 1.43%.
Today's daily turnover also saw a significant increase, reaching Rs 7 billion from the exchange of 20,237,780 units of shares of 331 companies across 87,086 transactions. This intraday turnover marks an increase from yesterday's record of Rs 5.7 billion.
The total market capitalization stood at Rs 3.496 trillion.
