The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 45.12 points, or 1.63 percent, on Wednesday to close at 2,802.52 points.

The sensitive index, which tracks Class 'A' stocks, increased by 1.22 percent, while the float index, measuring actively traded shares, gained 1.53 percent.

All sectoral indices ended in positive territory, with the Manufacturing and Processing sector leading the gains at 3.87 percent. It was followed by the Hydropower sector at 2.61 percent and the Hotels and Tourism sector at 2.56 percent.

The market recorded a daily turnover of Rs 8.31 billion through the trading of 18.81 million shares of 346 companies across 98,162 transactions.

In terms of individual stock performance, 251 scrips advanced, 15 declined, and two remained unchanged.

Four companies-Reliance Spinning Mills Limited (RSML), Shreenagar Agritech Industries Limited (SAIL), Solu Hydropower Limited (SOHL), and Hotel Forest Inn Limited (HFIN)-hit the upper circuit limit of 10 percent.

By the end of the trading session, the total market capitalisation stood at Rs 4.764 trillion.
