KATHMANDU, JULY 10
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 25.89 points or 0.95% on Thursday, closing at 2,731.80 points, buoyed by gains in key sectors.
The trading session witnessed mixed movement across indices, with the Float Index up 1.22%, while the Sensitive Index dipped by 1.62%.
Most sectoral indices closed in the green, except Hydropower and Trading, which declined by 0.22% and 0.53%, respectively.
The Banking sector led the rally with a strong 3.02% gain, followed by Microfinance at 1.46% and Development Banks at 1.12%. No other sectors posted gains exceeding 1%.
Turnover surged to Rs 9.68 billion, with 26.47 million shares of 312 companies traded across 88,615 transactions.
Among the traded stocks, 161 gained while 87 declined. By the end of the day, market capitalization stood at Rs 4.551 trillion.
