The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a decline of 10.71 points or 0.52%, settling at 2,025.30 points by the close of the trading day.

The sensitive index, which assesses the performance of class 'A' stocks, also saw a dip of 0.54%, while the float index, reflecting the activity of actively traded shares, dropped by 0.58%.

Today, the market predominantly displayed a negative sentiment, with only two sectors showing gains. The trading sector marked a notable increase of 1.46%, while the manufacturing and processing sector observed a modest gain of 0.13%.

However, the remaining sectors experienced declines, with the finance index leading the pack with a loss of 2.50%.

Amidst this downturn, 176 companies witnessed declines, contrasting with only 63 companies that advanced, while six remained unchanged. Singati Hydro Energy Limited (SHEL) notably suffered a 10% decline today.

Reflecting the negative market sentiment, daily turnovers dropped to Rs 3.4 billion, exchanging 8,696,918 units of shares from 308 companies in 61,420 transactions. The intra-day turnover was Rs 4.1 billion on Tuesday.

The total market capitalization stood at Rs 3.212 trillion.
