KATHMANDU, MARCH 13

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw a 2.48-point decline, settling at 2,108.72 points by the close of Wednesday's trading session, marking a 0.11% decrease. This comes after a notable 58-point surge in the NEPSE index on Tuesday.

Accompanying this downturn, the sensitive index, assessing the performance of 'A' class stocks, also slipped by 0.12%. Similarly, the float index, which measures actively traded shares, fell by 0.19%.

Despite a largely positive trend and significant gains across the board on Tuesday, Wednesday showcased mixed results, with seven sectors recording losses while six sectors saw gains. The Finance sector emerged as the top gainer, posting a 2.32% increase.

Daily turnover experienced a slight dip today, with a turnover of just Rs 4.2 billion recorded from the exchange of 10,889,634 units of shares from 310 companies, traded across 73,506 transactions. The intra-day turnover on Tuesday was Rs 4.5 billion.

Notably, only 96 companies advanced, while 133 companies declined, and 14 remained unchanged. Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Limited (UPPER) notably suffered a 10% loss.
