KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 2

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) soared 69.80 points (2.62%) on Sunday, closing at 2,727.58 on the first trading day of the week. In line with the benchmark index, the Sensitive Index that evaluates the performance of class 'A' stocks also increased by 3.06%, while the Float Index that gauges the actively traded rose by 2.75%.

All sectors ended in the green, with Microfinance leading gains at 4.93%, followed by Non-Life Insurance (3.71%), Investment (3.38%), and Development Bank (3.15%). The Manufacturing & Processing sector advanced 3.07%, while Others (2.63%), Banking (2.52%), and Life Insurance (2.43%) also posted gains.

Among individual stocks, Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta, Global IME Laghubitta, Aviyan Laghubitta, Vijaya Laghubitta, Bhugol Energy, Grameen Bikas Laghubitta, and NMB Microfinance all gained 10%. Meanwhile, Samudayik Laghubitta was the worst performer, shedding 10%.

A total of 202 stocks gained, 37 declined, and three remained unchanged. Turnover surged to Rs 12.95 billion, with 24.85 million shares traded across 330 scrips in 130,913 transactions.

By the end of the day, total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.525 trillion.
