The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) concluded today's trading session with a notable double-digit gain, as the NEPSE index closed at 2,129.42, marking an increase of 11.69 points compared to the previous closing. This surge translates to a growth rate of 0.55%. Yesterday, the index experienced a substantial rise of 62.21 points.
At the beginning of the session, the NEPSE index opened at 2,124.01 and reached its peak at 2,154.86 during intraday trading. However, it also experienced a dip, reaching as low as 2,120.42 before ultimately settling at 2,129.42.
During the trading session, a total of 279 securities were traded through 73,958 transactions. The overall volume of shares exchanged amounted to 11,903,687, with a turnover of Rs. 5.31 Arba. Notably, this turnover figure was lower than that of the previous trading day, which stood at Rs. 6.49 Arba.
Among the traded securities, SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) emerged as the most actively traded stock, with a turnover of Rs. 42.05 crores and closing at a market price of Rs. 622 per share.
Four securities reached their upper circuit limit during the trading session, experiencing significant positive growth. On the other hand, Super Madi Hydropower Limited (SMHL) suffered the highest decline, losing 6.94% of its value.
Out of the sector indices, five closed in the red, with "Non-Life Insurance" experiencing the highest decline of 0.97%. However, the "Microfinance" sector emerged as the top gainer, posting a significant increase of 3.99% during today's session.
