NESA-Ncell pact

KATHMANDU: Nepal E-Sports Association (NESA), in collaboration with Ncell, is organising Nepal E-Sports Championship 2018 on August 17 and 18 in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu with an aim to provide an international platform to Nepali gamers, so that they can represent Nepal in various e-sports tournaments worldwide.

Nepal E-Sports Championship this year will have two games, namely Dota 2, a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), a multiplayer first-person shooter video game.

Eight teams qualified for Dota 2 and CS:CG each will be competing to grab the title of E-sport National Champion.

The winning team of each of the games will be awarded with cash prize of Rs 150,000, as per a press release. They will also get an opportunity to represent Nepal in international e-sports tournaments.

E-sports lovers can also enjoy the first ever e-sports championship by watching it live. The championship will be live-streamed on iflix, the world’s leading entertainment service for emerging markets.

Entry fee for visitors has been fixed at Rs 150. NESA hopes to attract more than 20,000 visitors to enjoy the gaming extravaganza.
