New team in NTB

Kathmandu, May 7:

The outgoing government headed by Surya Bahadur Thapa today appointed a new team in Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) for three years term in an attempt to boost tourism effectively, giving special focus on hotel industry, which lately has suffered a lot. As hotel industry is a sensitive industry and contributes a huge amount in the national coffer in terms of foreign exchange, young team in the board of NTB are from hotel sector alone, according to an industry source.

According to the source, five appointed board members are Narendra Bajracharya, president of Hotel Association Nepal (HAN), Prasiddha Bahadur Pandey (secretary general of HAN), B K Shrestha, executive member of HAN, Ashok Pokhrel, former president of PATA Nepal Chapter and Suman Pandey, former president of Trekking Agents Association of Nepal (TAAN). NTB is an autonomous body of tourism sector for promotion, policy formation and infrastructure development.
