KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Environment Protection Committee under the Legislature-Parliament directed the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (MoPIT) to formulate necessary laws and policies to promote the import of environment-friendly vehicles in the country, on Sunday. The committee has directed the ministry to formulate and implement laws and policies under the Environment-Friendly Vehicles and Transport Policy 2071 BS in this connection. Issuing a press release, the committee has directed the MoPIT, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry, and Ministry of Population and Environment to promote environment-friendly vehicles and arrange route permits for them.
