KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 31

Nepal Oil Corporation has reduced the prices of petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel.

Effective from Thursday morning, the price of petrol has been lowered by Rs 4 per litre, while diesel and kerosene prices have been reduced by Rs 5 per litre. Similarly, aviation fuel prices have been cut by Rs 6 per litre for domestic flights and by USD 42 for international flights operating to Kathmandu.

The corporation stated that although the purchase price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has increased, the retail price of cooking gas has been kept unchanged in consideration of consumers' interests.

According to the revised rates, the price of petrol within a radius of up to 15 kilometres from the depot or sales office has been fixed at Rs 156.50 per litre in the first category, Rs 158 per litre in the second category, and Rs 159 per litre in the third category.

Likewise, the price of diesel and kerosene has been set at Rs 134.50, Rs 136, and Rs 137 per litre in the first, second, and third categories, respectively.

The first category includes Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj. The second category comprises Surkhet and Dang, while the third category includes Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal.
