NTY seeks NC stalwarts help
KATHMANDU: In the process of meeting leaders of different political parties to garner support for Nepal Tourism Year 2011, a delegation of tourism industry leaders under the banner of Programme Implementation Committee of Nepal Tourism Year 2011(NTY), today called on Ramchandra Poudel, the leader of the Parliamentary Party of the Nepali Congress and vice-president of the party to apprise him of the latest developments in launching Nepal Tourism Year-2011.
The delegates comprised Nepal Tourism Board chief executive officer and NTY main committee member secretary Prachanda Man Shrestha, NTY programme implementation committee national coordinator Yogendra Shakya, Hotel Association Nepal president Prasiddha Bahadur Pandey and NTY programme implementation committee executive member Ranjit Acharya.
Poudel assured them of the full support of his party saying that commitment should come not only from leaders but from cadres also. “It is necessary for all parties to convey this message to their cadres that they should resort to bandhs, strikes or chakkajams during the celebration of NTY-2011 because it is important for the nation’s economy,” he said.
He also deputed CA member and NC parliamentary party spokesperson Nabindra Raj Joshi, to coordinate with NTY for support needed to make this event successful.
Meanwhile, the Nepali embassy in Denmark and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) honoured 20 Finnish personalities and two travel agencies at Matka travel fair in Helsinki on January 2, thanking them for their promotion of Nepalese tourism and Nepal-Finland co-operation.
