KATHMANDU, AUGUST 15

Registration of small and cottage industries has been on the rise in Jumla district.

According to the Office for Protection of Industry and Consumer Interests, 4,216 industries of different nature have been registered in the district in the last fiscal year.

Acting Chief of the office, Binod Kumar Baniya informed that 204 new small scale industries were registered in the last fiscal year. Of the registered industries, 10 are for manufacturing, 122 for agriculture and forestry and 68 for service.

Revenue of Rs 2.4 million was collected in the last fiscal year. Meanwhile, the office has provided various skill-based training to 204 people of all the eight local governments in the last fiscal year. -
