PCCI celebrates golden jubilee in style

The Pokhara Chambers of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) is concluding its golden jubilee celebrations. Established in 1955, the PCCI announced yearlong celebrations that began on February 8, 2004 and will conclude with a grand finale in Dipendra City Hall, PCCI chairman, Rajendra Kumar Lalchan informed. The final phase of the celebration include the Industrial Trade Fair beginning from Tuesday. During the year-long celebrations, the PCCI had brought out a 5.3g gold coin. A dozen seminars, distribution of educational materials and photo exhibitions have been organised during the year, PCCI general secretary Man Kaji Makaju said. PCCI is the oldest organisation established in Pokhara which now has 1,249 associate and ordinary members. The PCCI is credited with being the pioneer on holding any festival because of Pokhara Festival-2052. It organised a programme, Jaun Hai Pokhara (Lets go to Pokhara) from September 2002 to April 2003. It is learnt that the PCCI is selected as one of the best chambers in the Asia-Pacific region.

PCCI has bagged awards including FNCCI Silver Jubilee Award, Best Chamber Award and Annapurna FM Lifetime Achievement Award.
