Pepsi Nepal wins accolades
Kathmandu, January 26:
Varun Beverages Pvt Ltd, the bottlers for Pepsi in Nepal, has won the coveted President’s Ring of Honour for 2007. PepsiCo International has acknowledged Varun Beverages effort at improving its over all performance by awarding them.
The award is given to different unit heads of each country for bringing about share gain, volume growth and for the all round performance of the team. This year, besides Nepal, it’s the Chennai team that has been selected from India.
Despite all odds, the pepsi team has managed to garner precious market share points. No wonder, the Nepali market has caught the attention of Pepsico International. A senior Pepsi official conceded Nepal would not have been important for PepsiCo had it not been for its noticeable share gain and high growth parameters.
“Nepal has been on the radar of PepsiCo international for the last two to three years because share growth is very important in the beverage industry,” he pointed out.
The director, Varun Beverages is scheduled to fly to New York, the headquarters of PepsiCo International, later this summer to collect the award from PepsiCo president and chief executive officer Indra Nooyi.
