KATHMANDU, JUNE 8

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal inaugurated the anticipated Lumbini Cable Car today.

The official launch took place at the Bottom Station situated in Golpark Bamghat of Butwal, where PM Dahal unveiled a copper plaque to commemorate the event.

This is Lumbini province's first Cable Car system, stretching roughly three kilometers between Golpark Bamghat in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-3 and Basantapur in Tinau Rural Municipality-3, in Palpa district.

This cable car service gives visitors in Basantapur easy access to scenic and religious attractions such as the renowned Kamakhyadevi Temple, Bhagwati Temple, Ganesh Temple, Kailash Parbat, and other notable landmarks such as a pond and a stone spout, transforming Basantapur into a prominent religious tourism destination in the area.

Lumbini Cable Car Pvt Ltd, Butwal Sub-Metropolis, and Tinau Rural Municipality have signed into an agreement to ensure the seamless running of the cable car services. The agreement states that 2% of the ticket fee will be allocated to those two local levels. This is the IME Group's third cable car, following the Chandragiri Cable Car in Kathmandu and the Maulakalika Cable Car near Gaindakot in Nawalpur.
