POKHARA, OCTOBER 15
Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara, part of The Centara Collection, has won the Best New Hotel/Resort 2026 award at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA), held in the Maldives.
The award was presented at the SATA Gala Awards Ceremony on October 8, less than a year after the resort opened on February 6, 2026.
Located in Kaskikot, overlooking the Annapurna range and Phewa Lake, the resort is part of Centara Hotels & Resorts, a Thailand-based hospitality group. It is the first Thai hospitality brand in Pokhara, according to the resort's press release.
"We are honoured to receive this recognition, which reflects the dedication of our team and its commitment to creating memorable guest experiences," said Prapaijit Thongma, the resort's general manager. She also acknowledged the support of travellers, business partners and the local community since the resort opened.
The South Asian Travel Awards recognise achievements in tourism and hospitality across the region, including service, innovation and efforts to improve travel experiences.
The resort has 42 rooms, suites and villas featuring Nepali design with Thai-inspired elements. Its facilities include four dining venues and Cense by Cenvaree Spa, which offers yoga and holistic therapies.
Guests can also take part in guided village walks, scenic hikes and cultural experiences, alongside dining and wellness activities.
The resort is located about 35 minutes from Pokhara and offers views of the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre, also known as Fishtail Mountain.
