The much-anticipated Proton e.MAS7 was officially launched in Nepal by Jagdamba Motors Pvt Ltd. in Kathmandu on March 21. The event was officiated by Tuan Mohd Firdaus Azman, Chargé d'Affaires, Embassy of Malaysia, Kathmandu, marking a significant milestone for Shanker Group, one of Nepal's leading conglomerates. Proton's debut of the e.MAS7 in the Nepali market follows its unveiling in Malaysia in December 2024.

The launch event, held at the Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu, was attended by notable dignitaries such as Dr. Li ChunRong, CEO of Proton, Zhang Qiang, CEO of Pronet, and Lim Meng Thong, VP & ISD Director.

The event was also graced by prominent figures from Nepal's banking, business, automotive industries, as well as media personalities and car enthusiasts. As Nepal pushes toward a more sustainable future, the Proton e.MAS7 is now available in two variants-Prime and Premium.

The Proton e.MAS7, available in six stylish colours-Platinum Silver, Turquoise Green, Slate Grey, Quartz Rose, Moyu Black, and Lithium White-boasts advanced features designed to make a significant impact on the growing electric vehicle (EV) market in Nepal.

Built on the Global Modular Architecture (GMA) platform, the e.MAS7 is equipped with a 12-in-1 intelligent electric propulsion system, Cell-to-Body (CTB) battery architecture, and the innovative Aegis Short-Blade Battery (new-generation lithium iron phosphate). In terms of safety and performance, it features L2-ADAS (Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System), a 360-degree view camera, a 5-Star ASEAN NCAP safety rating, and impressive power output of 160 kW and 320 Nm torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds. The e.MAS7 also boasts a 35-meter braking distance from 100 km/h to a full stop, ensuring high safety standards for drivers and passengers. The Prime variant offers a 49.52 kWh battery with a 345 km WLTP range, while the Premium variant comes with a 60.22 kWh battery and a 410 km WLTP range. Both variants support DC fast charging, with a 30-80% charge in just 20 minutes, and 10 minutes of charging recovering 135 km of range.

Interior features include ventilated car seats, ample legroom, 33 storage compartments, a 16-speaker Sound Wave system with WANOS technology, best-in-class 256-color ambient lighting, and a 15.4-inch, 2.5K resolution touchscreen display.

As Nepal continues to invest in electric vehicle infrastructure and offer government incentives for EVs, Proton is committed to supporting the country's green revolution, the press release said.

Jagdamba Motors Pvt Ltd, the official distributor of Proton in Nepal, has appointed 12 dealers nationwide, with nine set to become fully operational by the end of 2025.

Additionally, the company plans to establish a charging infrastructure and build a robust service center network to ease customers' transition to electric vehicles. To support potential Proton customers, the company has unveiled special financial schemes, including the lowest interest rate at 4.99% with Jagdamba Hire Purchase, EMI starting from Rs. 49,900 on financing through banks, free road tax for one year, a complimentary 7kW AC Home charging pack, a complimentary 3.5kW AC portable charger, and a 6-year/150,000 km basic warranty coverage. Special gifts worth Rs. 50,000 are also available for the first 100 customers.

The on-road price for the Proton e.MAS7 is Rs. 56,99,000 for the Prime variant (49.52 kWh) and Rs. 67,99,000 for the Premium variant (60.22 kWh).
