RASUWA: No effort has been made to reopen Rasuwagadhi customs checkpoint though it was sealed a long time ago. The closure has affected import of goods from China. The checkpoint, a source of collection of huge revenue, is lying closed due to the negligence on part of the concerned authorities, locals said. Citing security reason, China had closed the point being used since the 7th century, after the violence in Lhasa. No goods have arrived in Nepali territory even though some goods were brought in the daytime upto Gadhi Bazaar in Chinese territory, said DSP Sudip Rajbhandari. “I will take initiatives to reopen the point,” said Local Administrator Rabi Raj Kafle.
