KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 9
The Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) has clarified that it has not sought any personal or confidential information from its customers, cautioning the public against fraudulent calls and online scams.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the state-owned bank said it had received reports of unauthorized individuals impersonating bank representatives to extract sensitive data under the guise of offering fake financial schemes.
"No employee or authorized representative of the bank has made calls, sent emails, or contacted customers via social media to ask for ATM PINs, OTPs, passwords, or other private details," the statement read.
RBB Deputy Executive Officer Pawan Regmi urged customers to remain alert and avoid responding to such fraudulent communication. The bank also advised clients to report suspicious activities immediately to prevent misuse of personal information.
